Why does the skin on the fingers peel off
Sometimes our own carelessness provokes problems with the beauty of our pens. Today we will talk about what to do if the skin on the fingers peels off and how to prevent it.
Skin flaking is a very common problem. This did not bypass our pens. Even my clients periodically complain that their hands began to peel off.
Of course, we are all a bit of a snake in our hearts :). But that doesn't mean we're ready to shed our skin. After all, not a single, even the most immaculately made manicure, will look perfect on flaky hands. Therefore, it is important to establish the cause of this negative phenomenon in time and begin to neutralize it.
Peeling fingers can be caused by excessively dry skin, eczema, sunburn, psoriasis, washing hands too often, using harsh chemicals, exposure to dry and cold weather and various allergies.
In addition, there are certain fungal and staph infections that cause peeling of the skin on the hands. Vitamin deficiency (avitaminosis) can also be the culprit for the fact that the skin on the hands peels off.
Therefore, today I have selected for you very simple home remedies for skin peeling, which will help restore the former beauty and softness of your hands.
Aloe Vera Gel
Peeling skin around the fingertips can cause burning sensations and irritation, for which the best remedy is to apply fresh aloe gel. Simply take an aloe stem, scrape off some of its gel and apply to the affected area at least twice a day. You can of course use a lotion or cream with aloe extract, but the effect will not be so fast. So I advise you to get this plant-savior.
Coconut oil
Back in the old days, before all those moisturizers and chemically rich creams, coconut oil was a one-stop solution for all epidermal problems and was even used as an acne treatment! But not everyone liked the feeling of oiliness on the skin, so coconut oil was relegated to the background. But we already know what magical properties this oil has, and that it can be used to get rid of all this flaky, dry, cracked skin. Rub your hands with coconut oil and put on cotton gloves over the top. Do this twice a day and you will see your hands return to normal in just a week.
Honey
Honey is another great natural skin moisturizer. All you have to do is apply some honey on the affected areas and leave it on for half an hour. Of course, you won't be able to do anything during this time if you don't want to leave sticky prints all over the place, but this tool is definitely worth a try.
Oatmeal with milk
No, I'm not suggesting you eat! :) Make a thick mixture of oatmeal and milk and apply it on your fingers. The milk is hydrating and the oats help exfoliate bits of skin that cause discomfort.
Drink plenty of water
You may have heard this from me a million times, but I'll say it again: Drink plenty of clean water every day. After all, hydration comes from within!
Eat the right food
Did you know that over half of skin problems are caused by poor diet? Consuming nutritious foods and juices, plain yogurt, and protein-rich foods will help your skin and body return to its original healthy state.
Petrolatum
If there's anything that can really help dry, flaky skin besides coconut oil, it's petroleum jelly. Of course, it feels just as sticky and oily, but flaky fingers need deep hydration in order to return to normal. And Vaseline is able to successfully cope with this role.
Vitamin E capsules
Vitamin E capsule oil is an excellent remedy for dry skin. However, if the skin is peeling off almost the entire surface of the hands, you may need to use more than one capsule to cover the entire area. And it's a little costly. Instead, you can use bottled natural vitamin E oil.
Bananas
Do not throw away overripe bananas, they may well come in handy! Crush one banana with a fork, mix with a little honey and milk, and apply the mixture to dry fingertips. Do this procedure regularly and watch how your skin absorbs all the beneficial substances and becomes soft and velvety.
Protect your hands
This is more of a preventive measure than a home remedy, but if you want all of the above methods to work, you must avoid exposing your hands to harsh chemicals. In fact, one of the main reasons why the skin of the hands peels is the constant exposure to chemicals! So do your hands a favor, put on your gloves!
I hope my tips were helpful to you. However, I want to emphasize that if you have blisters, deeply cracked skin, or you have not noticed any positive effect from all these remedies - do not risk it and consult a doctor. Be healthy and beautiful! :)
