Snow globe on nails
New Year holidays are a time of creativity and experiments. And masters of nail art also don't stand aside. Today we will meet and be inspired by another holiday trend - a snow globe on nails .
I, as a manicure master, always try to be in the center of new trends in nail art, in order to constantly delight my precious clients with new products! :) But even I sometimes wonder how talented people expand the usual boundaries of creativity. A snow globe on nails is a beauty trend that will fit perfectly into the passing days of 2017 .
This design is called a "water ball" or "snow ball" design, and are basically just miniaturized versions of the same glass balls that people love to bring home from vacation. The only difference is that you use your nails as a base .
Canadian YouTube vlogger Kristin Rothenberg didn't pioneer the nail trend, but it was her video tutorial on creating a snow globe on nails that brought the trend into the spotlight. With nearly 2.5 million views, these nails are a definite eye-catcher, whether these are practical for everyday wear or not. Naturally, this nail design is more of a joke, and no one suggests that you go to a business meeting with such enchanting nails. :) But unpacking gifts, when such a manicure “looms” before your eyes, is doubly pleasant and atmospheric! :)
In our city, the snow has melted so far, but such a manicure can remind you every day how magical a winter fairy tale can be. And what a great option this design can be for young mothers! And the nails are in order, and there is something to entertain a small child. I am sure that such a snowman will definitely not be left without the attention of the kids! :) Although, most likely, not only kids!
Such nail art also has pitfalls. The process of creating a snow globe manicure is not easy. You must first make a kind of gel polish globe and then fill it with liquid and accessories before placing it on your nail. The ball itself is made by Christina from several layers of glossy gel top coat, which she applies to the nozzle of a roller applicator to get the shape of a perfect little ball. Of course, such a ball is not very durable, but it is quite suitable for its decorative purposes.
The blue-silver ombre paired with the holographic finish is the perfect base for your snowman to sit on. All that's left is to attach the globe, which Kristin advises doing, leaving a small hole in the structure so you can add glitter and liquid later. In order for the sparkles to float beautifully inside, Christine advises using not water, but baby body oil, which she pours into the ball using an old bottle of eye drops. It is better to mix the oil with glitter before pouring into the ball, as it will be more difficult to mix these
later.
You can also seal the hole in the snow globe on your nails using a gel top coat, which is applied to the edges of the ball, and then to the sides of the entire sphere, after you have pressed the ball to the nail. You can also use the same technique to make a 3D snowman or Rudolf Reindeer.
Whether you're a fan of this winter nail design or not, you can't help admiting that it looks pretty creative. Plus, any manicure with sparkles always attracts attention.
Happy holidays, my dears, and may 2018 bring you as much happiness and beautiful manicures as possible! :)
