Marble manicure

Looking for an original nail design with maximum effect? Today I will tell you the easiest way to turn your nails into an optical illusion. After all, our theme is marble manicure.

This year has definitely been the year of marble and many collections of accessories and interior items have been replenished with products reminiscent of this noble rock.

Sometimes even a marble countertop in the kitchen or tile in the bathroom can serve as an inspiration, so it's no surprise that nail art has also been on the sidelines of this trend, and, inspired by the sophisticated look of white marble, manicures have begun to appear on the fingertips of women all over the world. 

But unlike interior items, for which you need to shell out a decent amount, a marble manicure is a more affordable thing, and you can even do it yourself, at home.

At first glance, a marble manicure does not seem like something easy to do, but in fact this is an erroneous opinion.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that the first videos on how to make a marble manicure at home were something similar to chemistry lessons, art school classes and cooking classes combined. :) First, varnishes of different colors were poured into a container with water and then fingers were dipped into it one by one, until the pattern “glued” to the nail. To tell the truth, it didn't look very attractive, not to mention the huge amount of time spent and varnish wasted.

In fact, getting a marble manicure is not as difficult as it sounds, and even nail art beginners can easily recreate it in just a few steps:

• Apply a base coat and then one or two coats of the base color of your choice. If you want to create a standard black and white marble manicure, then the main color should be white.

• After the coating dries, apply a few dots of a contrasting color on top. Make sure the dots are very small, otherwise the end result will look more like swirls than marble.
• Add tiny dots of the first color (white in our case) on top of the previous dots.
• Using a very thin brush, connect the colors as if you were drawing swirls. You can also try dipping your brush in nail polish remover or alcohol and go over the wavy lines you've drawn. This will help give the drawing a more blurry look.
• Apply top coat.

If you want to give the pattern the maximum similarity to the texture of marble, try using a matte top coat.

But that's not all! :) I'll also tell you an easy way to make a marble manicure using an item that you probably have in your kitchen: cling film.

• Choose three matching nail polish colors, as well as a base color and a base coat.
• Apply a base coat and then one or two coats of the base color. Wait until all layers are completely dry.
• After your nail polish has dried, randomly add three small drops of three different shades of polish to your nail.
• Take some crumpled cling film and gently pat it on your nails until the three colors blend perfectly.

• Repeat the same step for each nail.
• When the drawing is completely dry, apply the top coat.
• Remove excess polish from the area around the nail with nail polish remover and a brush.

No need to limit yourself to just white lacquer as the base color. You can easily get marbled nails with neutral, dark or bright polishes, depending on your preference and the season.

For the cold season, dark, deep tones are more suitable, but for a summer marble manicure, even neon colors can be safely combined.

It is also not necessary to do a marble manicure on all ten nails, this design looks spectacular even as an accent. For example, you can make a wedding marble manicure and emphasize one finger - exactly the one on which the treasured ring gapes. :)

In my opinion, marble manicure is elegant, abstract and eye-catching. And definitely deserves a worthy place in the collection of favorite manicure designs! :)
