What is liquid pedicure
Liquid pedicure has several names, in everyday life the concept of "acid pedicure" and "liquid blade" is also used.
Don't let the name scare you, edged weapons, or piercing and cutting objects are not used for this pedicure. :) The liquid blade is a special chemical gel containing fruit acid. After hitting the feet, the acid begins to act, softening the rough layers of the skin and calluses.
Fruit acid is the active ingredient in many peels, and if used correctly, it is completely safe for the skin.
In order to do an acid pedicure, you also do not need to steam your legs first.
Acid pedicure does not cause pain, so it is suitable for people with very sensitive skin, pregnant women, diabetics, and owners of fungal infections of the feet.
How to do an acid pedicure
Making an acid pedicure on your own is not difficult. For this you will need:
- Acid pedicure liquid
- Disinfectant
- Plastic bags suitable for the size of the foot
- Gloves
- Cuticle sticks
- Towel
- foot bath
- Moisturizing cream
Before starting the acid pedicure procedure, you should make sure that there are no visible injuries on the feet, since the liquid that contains the acid can penetrate the wounds and provoke irritation, inflammation and pain. If you haven't noticed anything, you can get down to business.
Even though I said a little earlier in the article that it is not necessary to soak your feet before the procedure, if you wish, you can dip your feet in warm water for 5-10 minutes. This will help the cuticles and dry keratin growths on your feet to absorb water and swell. In this state, the "liquid blade" will work more effectively.
Then you need to dry your feet with a towel and apply a special disinfectant to them. Gloves should be on your hands.
Next on the feet should be applied means for acid pedicure. To create a greenhouse effect, plastic bags are put on the legs, or they are wrapped in several layers of cling film.
Typically, an acid pedicure product should be left on your feet for about 10 minutes. Then you should remove the bag or film, and massage your feet with light movements. At this time, dead cells exfoliate and roll down. If you have difficulty in particularly rough areas, you can use a pumice stone, but you must be very careful not to injure the delicate skin under the layer of dead cells.
The result of the acid pedicure procedure should be clean, soft and refreshed skin of the legs, without burrs and calluses.

Despite the fact that using a “liquid blade” is already quite easy, in some Asian countries they began to produce pedicure sockssoaked in fruit and lactic acids. They are very convenient for home use, and are not inferior in effectiveness to the "liquid blade", although they contain acid in a lower concentration.
You can even find models specifically designed for men. You can tell them apart by their longer feet.
Socks for acid pedicure are worn for 1.5-2 hours, then they need to be removed, and the feet should be cleaned of the remnants of the product. The skin begins to peel off after about 3-5 days, and all this "beauty" lasts up to two weeks. You should not try to "help" the peeling, because this can provoke a tear in the skin, and lead to serious damage.
After the procedure, it is recommended to apply a moisturizer to the feet.
