How to prolong the durability of a manicure with gel polish
The beauty of gel polish is that we can enjoy long-lasting coverage for several weeks. But if the manicure is full of chips for a week already, something needs to be changed! Today we’ll talk about how to prolong the life of gel polish .
With the advent of gel polish, the dream of many women has come true. Mine is exactly the same! :) Not only was I happy as a master (after all, I had something to surprise my clients), but I was more in euphoria as a woman - after all, due to my professional activities, it was difficult for me to keep my manicure in perfect condition. As they say: "A shoemaker without boots." To make you beautiful, my dears, you had to sacrifice your hands. :) But thanks to the gel polish, this problem was solved, which I was in a hurry to happily share with all my colleagues.
I was so surprised when I found out that not everyone is ready to share my then enthusiasm. A friend of mine complained that she removed the gel polish (or rather, it tears itself) after five days!
So what's the deal? And what is the secret of long-wearing gel polish manicure? Today I'm going to share a little secret with you! :)
Moisturizing
I will not get tired of repeating this golden rule of healthy nails: moisturize, moisturize and moisturize again! If you have weak, dry, or damaged nails, your alliance with gel polish is likely to fail. :( In order for your gel manicure to serve you for at least 2.5 weeks, it is important to “nourish” your nails and cuticles . But I'm not just talking about using a good hand cream or cuticle oil - beauty comes from within, so don't forget to drink enough water. Moisturizing is especially important for exfoliating nails. Daily use of cuticle oil will also minimize breakouts.
Protection
You probably think that washing dishes is a fairly harmless everyday task. but if you do it without gloves, on a regular basis, you can cause much more damage to your nails than you think. Excessive exposure to chemicals can cause gel polish to chip or peel off. Plus, cleansers can dry out the skin on your hands. Cleaning gloves are your must-have accessory! :)
Don't bite!
Well, there is nothing surprising here, biting your nails is not only aesthetically ugly, but also harmful! And it seems that everyone knows this for a long time. But I still meet clients with obvious marks of bitten nails who justify themselves with excessive stress. We have to explain to them that the problem of brittle, exfoliating nails, on which gel polish will not hold at all, will soon be added to stress.
Do not cut or file
If your nails are growing fast and you can't wait to shorten them, consider if you're willing to sacrifice your gel polish. By cutting or filing your nails, you “unbox” the gel polish, which will lead to its peeling and the likelihood of chipping the free edge of the nail. It is best to avoid this at all costs.
Dry gel polish properly
Girls, well, this is a direct cry from the heart! How many times have my clients pulled their hands out of the UV lamp before they were supposed to, just because they need to answer text messages. I know the wait is annoying, but it's still necessary. If you do not completely dry the gel polish layer, the coating will not become hard enough, and therefore resistant.
Wear your nails as decoration, not as a tool
We all sin sometimes by using our precious nails as tools: whether it's opening a can, tearing off tape, labels, or every time we need to "hook" something. With or without gel, these actions can easily break your nails. Let it become taboo for you! For all this, there are many other improvised means. I hope my advice will be useful to you. And finally, if you take my recommendations into account, and thereby extend the life of your manicure with gel polish, then here's a little lifehack for you on how to beautifully and unobtrusively paint over an overgrown nail :)
