How to fix a broken nail
Breaking a nail seems like a minor event, but it can seriously confuse any girl. In today's article, I will tell you how to fix a broken nail and regain your former confidence in your manicure. :)
Method #1: Fix With Glue
If your nail just broke rather than completely broken, try a reliable quick-fix method: glue. Lightly buff the surface of the nail, and apply a layer (or two) of quick-drying nail glue to temporarily seal the crack (and keep the nail from snagging) until the next appointment with your manicurist.
Once the glue is completely dry, apply a coat of clear polish over the top to make sure you seal your progress and smooth out any bumps. I know that many girls are interested in the question of whether it is possible to use superglue for nails. I would say yes, but be very careful. If there is nothing more suitable at hand, you can literally apply a drop of superglue to a crack in the nail. However, remember that superglue is a fairly strong tool, and in addition to a full set of all kinds of chemicals, its use is also fraught with the fact that you can at least stick your fingers together, or get a chemical burn. Therefore, when using this method, be extremely careful.
Method number 2: applying an artificial nail
Unfortunately, sometimes a broken nail is completely beyond repair, and the only way to save a manicure is to use false nails. This method is especially relevant if you broke your nail before an important event, and it is not possible to redo the manicure. Depending on the situation, you can stick just one nail in place of the broken one or all 10, so that the fake nail does not stand out from the others.
Method number 3: gel and silk
Nail care manufacturers have heard the prayers and hysteria of girls all over the world and have created a special silk ribbon that can be used to fix a broken nail. This method is great if your nail is badly broken and more intensive steps need to be taken to save it. Apply a coat of clear polish or primer, apply a piece of silk nail tape, dry the gel, then sand the surface and, if necessary, apply another coat of gel coat. You can buy silk ribbon for repairing nails in specialized cosmetic stores, or on numerous sites on the Internet.
Method #4: The Tea Bag Method
This method is perhaps the most popular on the Internet. Simply cut off a small piece of a tea bag (yes, yes, the one you usually brew in a cup) and attach it to the cracked nail with glue. Give it a good press, make sure the glue is completely dry, paint over with your favorite polish and move on. :)
What's the catch? The fact is that this method requires a little adjustment every few days to keep the structure strong. But, nevertheless, this is an excellent cheap method of fixing a nail, which everyone can do.
Method number 5: dip powder for nails
This method is one of the most "durable" options for how to fix a broken nail. First, apply nail glue to the damaged area, and then dip the nail into a container of gel powderso that it sticks to the glue.
Continue applying glue to the powder until you have several layers, depending on the severity of the crack. Then take a nail file and polish all the roughness. Ready! Your nail is saved. :)
Method number 6: Compare the tips
No matter how good your nail repair is, a difficult and deep crack or breakage will always reappear over time. :( If the nail broke in a convenient place to trim, maybe the best option would be to just shorten it, and trim the length of the rest of the nails.
I hope my advice will be useful to you, and the broken nail will not take you by surprise anymore. And, of course, in order not to break your nails in the future, and prevent them from delamination, I advise you to keep them moisturized and well filed. Be healthy and beautiful! :)
