Straight smile

Another of the often repeated mistakes that affect the overall look of a French manicure is a wide smile that does not match the length. Often this is drawn in order to hide the growing free edge of the nail. However, instead, it is better to use camouflage gel polishes or bases.

Different smile widths

Not everyone succeeds in drawing a French coat beautifully the first time, and often this is accompanied by the appearance of a smile of different thickness on all nails: on one it is narrower, on the other it is wider. For best results, when creating a French manicure, do not forget to compare the length of smiles with each other.

U-shaped smile

This mistake is made by girls who draw a smile as follows: first, a flat strip on the free edge of the nail, and then they begin to draw antennae from it. When viewed from above, such a drawing looks quite flat and not professional.

Ideally, the smile line should be a mirror image of the cuticle growth line.

Since one of the most popular forms of sawdust nails is now almonds, we will consider how to make a beautiful French manicure with just such data.

The drawing scheme on the almond shape is different in that the free edge is divided into three equal parts.

We turn the finger to the side (this is a very important point) and bring the brush to the point of the nail ingrowth. If you do not turn your finger to the side, then the "antennae" will turn out to be thick.

From the point of growth and up to 1/3 draw a straight line.

We pass to the other side and in the same way draw a straight line from the point of growth. Make sure that the antennae are at the same level.

We outline the thickness of the future jacket with a thin brush, and then we begin to “round off” the formed corners. We fill the drawing on the free edge of the nail with light dashed movements towards ourselves.

Do not forget to turn away the client's hand from time to time in order to look at the symmetry of the smiles.

If the client has a deeply planted nail or pronounced rollers, be sure to remove the white gel polish from this area before putting it into the lamp, since it will be much harder to do after drying.

After applying the top, turn your hand over for a few seconds so that the top is even and there is no step from the white jacket.
