Holey manicure
Service "Pilochka" always keeps abreast of the most fashionable manicure trends. Therefore, today I would like to discuss with you the novelty of this summer, which even the world stars liked - holey manicure.
This summer, we could observe a lot of interesting manicure trends, both new and old, on the hands of fashionistas. We saw everything: jelly nails that many of my clients love, and a gradient and even a design reminiscent of milk rivers. And if you thought that this summer manicure is over, then you are mistaken. After all, "leaky" nails enter the arena.
When I first saw in one of the Internet publications the glamorous manicure with heart-shaped holes on the tips of British singer Rita Ora's nails, I was very intrigued. Of course, as a manicurist, I immediately had many questions. Are these natural nails? Why exactly hearts? And most importantly, how to make this amazing holey manicure?
Of course, common sense told me that these were artificial nails, however, knowing the love of Western stars for shocking, I would not be at all surprised if they did this with their natural nails. :)
Be that as it may, the idea of holey nails first came up with Los Angeles manicurist Britney Tokyo. By the way, this master is also known for other extravagant manicure designs, which you can get acquainted with by walking on her Instagram page.
Britney Tokyo collaborates with many world stars, so it is not at all surprising that Rita Ora entrusted her nails to her. :) For the image of the singer, Tokyo used a streaked finish (which also became one of the hits of the outgoing summer), skillfully mixing it with bright jelly glitter nails, and adding a twist in the form of heart-shaped holes on the long tips.
To be honest, this design immediately reminded me of two things: arts and crafts lessons at school, when we practically fought for the right to wield a hole punch; as well as more recent attempts to create a masterpiece of art at home by making a bright print on a white t-shirt using multi-colored dyes! :)
There were magical times... But let's get back to our nail art.
The secret to a holey manicure is the use of specially designed nail tips (tips) made of soft gel to provide comfortable and easy nail extensions without damaging them.
Britney Tokyo created a collection of such tips in collaboration with Aprés Nail. In order to fix the tips on the nails, gel or acrylic is used, which is then dried in a lamp, and provides a durable manicure for at least 4 weeks. Manufacturers promise that their products do not harm natural nails, they are quick and easy to apply, and easy to remove. Just soak your nails in acetone for 15-20 minutes and remove the coating in the same way as with gel polish. The cost of one such set, which consists of 250 overlays, is approximately $30.
To our delight, tips will soon be available with perforations in the form of stars.
Manicure design with holes can be done on all nails at once,
Or, for example, focus on only one of them:
Despite the fact that a holey manicure in itself is already quite original, it can be safely combined with other “chips”, for example, with rhinestones or accessories, and it will not look too gaudy.
This design successfully combines two trends at once - holey manicure and nail piercing. To be honest, I can't wait to offer such an original version to my clients! :)
