Coconut oil for eyelashes
Coconut oil is one of the most popular organic beauty products. Today I propose to discuss how coconut oil is useful for eyelashes, and whether it really helps to grow them long and thick.
We already know that coconut oil is practically a miracle of nature. It is good for heart health, balances blood sugar, lowers cholesterol, hydrates the skin and makes hair shiny and manageable. And you and I should definitely find out if coconut oil can help grow luxurious eyelashes too.
What is coconut oil used for?
An interesting fact is that coconut oil is the only natural remedy for conjunctivitis.
From this we can conclude that it is absolutely safe for the eyes, and for the skin around the eyes. Therefore, it is not surprising that coconut oil is also recommended for gentle make-up removal. And if you want to try moisturizing your lashes with coconut oil, there's no reason not to.
In a study comparing mineral, sunflower, and coconut oils, only coconut oil reduced hair protein loss. Lack of protein makes hair dull and lifeless. Hair with a healthy amount of protein, on the other hand, grows faster and looks thicker. There is also evidence that the fatty acids in coconut oil protect hair from breakage. If coconut oil is so beneficial for scalp hair, it goes without saying that it will be for eyelashes as well.
A small amount of coconut oil applied to the eyelashes helps them look longer and more nourished. The secret is that the deep conditioning provided by coconut oil adds shine to the lashes and makes them visually thicker. If you are not a fan of mascara, but want to emphasize your eyes, or grow your eyelashes, then this is definitely your option!
But, not with eyelashes alone, as they say! :) Coconut oil will also be useful for eyebrow care! So, if you have not yet acquired this miraculous oil, I advise you to correct this defect! :)
How to apply coconut oil on eyelashes
Before you decide to use coconut oil for eyelashes, there are a few things to consider:
- The procedure is best done before bed.
- Before using coconut oil, be sure to cleanse your face well and wash thoroughly with water.
- Make sure your hands are clean too
- In the case of coconut oil, less is better than more. Don't try to apply half a jar of coconut oil to your eyes at once, hoping for luxurious thick lashes. In order to nourish the eyelashes, a small amount of oil is enough.
- Do not use other eyelash products at the same time, in order to avoid an allergic reaction.
- Do not use coconut oil if you have lash extensions. The oil base will dissolve the lash glue and the fake lashes will just fall off.
How to choose coconut oil for eyelashes
Not all oils are the same. And even though they contain almost the same nutritional value, it's important that you know how to choose the best coconut oil for your eyelashes.
When it comes to coconut oil, there are two main types - refined and unrefined coconut oil. Despite the fact that refined coconut oil has already undergone some processing, it is still considered an excellent source of fatty acids.
Unrefined coconut oil, often seen labeled virgin. This oil is obtained after the first processing of raw coconut, which means that the oil does not contain any harsh chemicals.
So which of the two varieties of coconut oil to choose for eyelashes? Of course, I would advise you to first of all pay attention to unrefined coconut oil, because it is in it that the greatest number of useful properties has been preserved.
Should You Use Coconut Oil for Eyelashes? My conclusion is why not! While there are still no studies directly linking coconut oil to increased eyelash growth, there is scientific evidence that this oil is very beneficial for scalp hair. And since, in fact, this is the same thing, coconut oil will definitely not harm your eyelashes, but only additionally nourish them. Be healthy and beautiful! :)
